BBC News (UK) There’d be no good time to run this story, but in the middle of a mass disabling event in which disabled people have been subject to inappropriately applied DNRs, debates about the worth of our lives vs the economy, and shielders left to fend for themselves, is definitely not it.

So many people have already made good points about the BBC documentary 'Sickness and Lies' which is about r/illnessfakers and accusations of faking chronic illness towards chronically ill people with social media followings. I've watched it twice and I have some thoughts.

BBC News (UK) The producers asked me to be part of this documentary and I said a VERY firm 'no' and that I did not agree with the concept... but they used my image anyway. This topic is presented irresponsibly as it is.

Hey doctors, if a patient shows up with a "kitchen sink" list of symptoms that gives you the impression they've scrutinized every inch of their body, it is because they're trying to help you do your job.

I just watched a short video on Facebook (not gonna share here) from an autism mom that a relative sent me. Friends, she was crying -- because everyone had lied to her about what autism was. Because she was taught to fear her kid's diagnosis. She read, she listened to us.

I think I just realized why autistic burnout is so bad. It's because when neurotypical people reach their limits, they can't go on. When autistic people reach their limits, they continue because they know they have to continue to be considered valuable. 1/

Our animation #SinkingFeeling, created in collaboration with Blue Zoo Animation Studio, explores themes of loneliness, isolation and the importance of peer support; it tackles the heart-breaking reality that many young people are suffering in silence without the vital support they need. #WMHD

How do you think it feels, knowing that if you got Covid and ended up in hospital, your life would be ignored so that someone else (with the same virus) could live. There's a reason that many disabled people independently chose to shield. We knew we'd be worth less to them.

GPs and everyone who works with them need more support, time, funding and access to thorough, up to date training. Blaming them for the state of our health system just doesn't add up. We need them to be able to do their jobs.
