if you do not make art but have to communicate to artists what you want from them, i highly recommend making moodboards or pinterest boards! most of us are visual thinkers, and it'll help you catalyze in a specific way what it is you're looking for, too

also don't underestimate the value of a rough thumbnail or whatever, but like—putting a bunch of pictures together and scribbling beside them which reference image is pertinent to what part of a piece or a character design etc. is beyond helpful
