Neither Ranil or I are giving up on this story. Besides terrible incentives for careful public spending as Ranil picks up, for me it is also about honesty and transparency of what Overseas Aid is used for.

Sad news for Uganda. After one of the longest school closures in the world, schools are closing once more due to Ebola.

As an extrovert one of my most hated tasks is reviewing a 50+ page doc. Still this parent quote made my day: "PEAS is about everyone whether intelligent or not, they believe no one is dull ... they feed them during lunch, so they pick anyone whether they passed or failed"

It still surprises me how many otherwise well-informed people don't know just how huge (and growing) Africa's young population are, and what a massive opportunity it is for the world if they get the education they deserve.

Such a relief to see Uganda announced as Ebola free today! After closing schools early to limit the spread, it's good news that all should be on track to open on time next month for hopefully the first non-disrupted year since 2019! monitor.co.ug/uganda/news/na…
