Maybe I’m naive but I thought we were doing all this growth management and countryside lines to maintain good farmland, prevent sprawl, and protect groundwater recharge areas. But we were doing it for governments to then hand over that farmland to private development interests?!

All the buzz is about today's solar eclipse: We're expecting a little mid-day darkness! Be sure not to look unless you have proper eyewear! Don’t forget fur family – keep them indoors with curtains closed. (As cute as the sunglasses are, they don’t work for your pets 😉)

Farms are businesses. These farms bring jobs, & FOOD to our community and beyond. How would these business people feel if it were their businesses being threatened? Shall we ask them to sacrifice their land? #NoFarmersNoFood #NoFarmlandNoFood kitchener.citynews.ca/2024/04/05/loc…

There are still a lot of questions left unanswered for the potential expropriation of nearly 800 acres of Farmland in the Wilmot Township. Where is the public engagement? What does Grand River Conservation Authority have to say about this? 1/2

Wilmot farmers made a moving statement to the Region of Waterloo Council a few weeks ago regarding the expropriation of their land. Their opportunity to speak was given following persistent requests from multiple University of Waterloo students during the session. We applaud the farmer’s for

"We couldn't believe that [the region] would spend the time and effort to do this at this point in time and not wait 6 weeks before it became viable crop or an additional couple months to make it into food products we all enjoy." #FightForFarmland #ONpoli cbc.ca/news/canada/ki…

TODAY!! Come #StandWithFarmers in #Wilmot and beyond. Farmland is a finite resource. Bulldozing forests in Northern Ontario doesn't replace the #319AcresPerDay lost nor does the data reflect the acres being dug up for aggregate. Numbers don't lie, but they can be manipulated.

Shocking to hear the Finance Minister failed to consider the $225M price tag to accelerate beer & wine into corner stores. Millions of taxpayer dollars at the expense of ON’s healthcare, education system & infrastructure. This is the definition of fiscal irresponsibility. #onpoli

NEW: More than two dozen television commercials, funded by Ontario taxpayers, were paused during the election period after the province’s auditor general deemed the advertising was “designed to promote the governing party” rather than the province itself. globalnews.ca/news/11030625/…
