Grateful to all of the stillbirth parents who shared their kiddos with the @NICHD_NIH Stillbirth Working Group today. Gutted to hear so much self-blame. Even when they know the medical establishment failed them, still blame themselves.

It was an extremely emotional experience. I have shared my son Owen's story in many spaces but this felt important. I'm grateful to have had 3 mins to share with my husband so he could highlight the effect of stillbirth on father's mental health & grief which so often is ignored.

Can’t believe parents have to correct a medical assoc. but it’s gaslighting to call #stillbirth a pregnancy loss & we won’t allow it! Stillbirth is STILL birth! As mothers who’ve birthed a baby that was tragically stillborn (meaning they died before/during delivery), we call BS!
