My biggest take away from this week is that many elected officials could not even handle being a teacher or a student: - They have no idea what to do in case of an active shooter, teachers do. - They can't handle walking through metal detectors, students can.

Again, if elected officials (who are grown adults) were deathly afraid and traumatized after last Wednesday, imagine what active shooter drills are doing to children and young adults.

As educators, let’s be sure to remember to teach our kids how to think, not what to think. 💡
