Important note — even if Prop 6 passes, NYC won’t automatically move its municipal elections to presidential years. To take effect: — The state leg would need to pass it in two consecutive legislative sessions — Then it would need to go before voters in a statewide referendum

This is silly. Increasing the number of *affordable & total* units in each new building in fact means we can meet the housing shortage by replacing fewer existing buildings which is the displacement these folks want desperately to avoid.

“Plenty of new market-rate units are vacant” good. Build more. We are objectively well below the vacancy levels of a well functioning and balanced market. Of course developers build high end units until that market is saturated. Don’t stop just because a few units are vacant.

Cuomo driving a car around with an illegal license place cover. It figures. There's a reason (well many reasons) I could never vote for him.

Guess who won’t sign on to the bill (Intro 80) to get cars off sidewalks: Carmen de la Rosa. That’s my litmus test for avoiding a speaker with windshield perspective.

🚨First Map of the Early Vote🚨 Andrew Cuomo has significantly eroded Curtis Sliwa's support. Zohran Mamdani is doing well in Black neighborhoods, but Cuomo is keeping it close by winning Southern Brooklyn, Staten Island, and the Upper East/West Sides of Manhattan.

You can address restructuring debt & how MTA services existing bonds. You can identify alternative revenue streams to replace fares—the legal & financial mechanics are solvable; all that’s required is political will—and that is not something that can be quantified or denied.

Missing the forest for the trees - there IS statistical benefit in reducing car use citywide and these studies ignore that the topic is "universal" daylighting, not piecemeal daylighting.

City of Yes is making recent rezonings better. 2560 Boston Road in Bronx Community District 11 passed ULURP as a 100% affordable 333-unit building in 2023. It's now planned to be approximately 483-units, with a larger supermarket, and deeper affordability.

Here’s the incoming city council by speaker vote commitment (on far right side) Julie Menin won over: — 14 members whose districts voted for Mamdani in the primary — 10 members who endorsed Mamdani in the general election — 5 members of the progressive caucus — All 5 Republicans

She bought an 8 million dollar apartment just to move and buy that city council seat in order to further the interests of the city's wealthiest residents while probably spending most of her time in the Hamptons. Her being speaker is an affront to every working class New Yorker.
