Youth sports is supposed to be about development. Establishing character, work ethic, sportsmanship, fitness. But it seems like it’s become more about winning.

It starts with us as parents. If we have strong identities, so too will our kids. If we emphasize development and foster a sports environment based on fun and learning, they will thrive in the presence of freedom and creativity. That will make them better athletes, not pressure.
