Although I've only worked with Omar Alghabra for the past year, and although we may not have agreed on every issue, I found the Minister open to dialogue and engagement and respectful of views. Congrats to the Minister on his decision and on a highly successful political career.

NACC President and CEO Jeff Morrison (he/him) joined CP24 yesterday to discuss improvements in air travel over the summer of 2023, changes coming to the CTA claims process, and the key role that airlines are playing in resolving passenger claims.

NACC's top recommendation to the federal govt heading into the 2024 budget making cycle is to introduce policies to incentivize domestic SAF production in Canada - a clear requirement if Canada is to be a global leader in aviation decarbonization.

Thanks Willie and IATA for their thoughts and focus on Canada's APPR proposals. Tourism, airports, air navigation, unions, and now international organizations have all raised concerns with the proposals as released in July 2023.

This is great news - if the federal government introduced a SAF production incentive policy for Canada, similar to what other countries are introducing, Canada could become a global leader in SAF production and usage.

NACC was aware that ICAO was conducting a Universal Safety Oversight Audit Program audit on Canada over the last few months. This audit is not a review of Canada's airlines or other aviation operators but rather of the government’s processes. ctvnews.ca/business/fligh…

NACC has not seen the results of the audit. Canada's aviation system is among the safest in the world. As always, NACC member airlines stand ready to support the government to ensure our aviation ecosystem remains one of the safest and most reliable in the world.

The Canadian government needs to include Sustainable Aviation Fuel incentives in #Budget2024 not only in order to scale up production, but given our abundant resource and skills advantages, to also create a significant new economic opportunity for Canada.
