I’m heartbroken to hear about the passing of my friend John McCallum. John was a consequential public servant. He was the Defence Minister when Canada said no to the war on Iraq. He was the Immigration Minister when Canada welcomed Syrian refugees. My thoughts are with his family

On this day, forty years ago, 329 innocent people, including 280 Canadians, were killed in the terrorist attack on Air India Flight 182. I join all Canadians in remembering the victims of the Air India bombing, and extend my deepest sympathies to their families and friends.
