The mystery at the center of the Christian faith is not that God as man endured torture and death. It's that God liberated humanity from death and united human soil and spirit to the heart of the triune God. #GoodFriday2023

I'm glad the gospels make space for doubting, disoriented, and dissonant people. I wish the church was better at it. #morningprayer

We are wounded in community and we are healed in community. No way around it. Healing might not come from the community where the wounding took place, but community is needed for healing nonetheless.

I'm genuinely curious about when and how the church will have a healthy conversation about leadership models and the formation / accountability requirements to do things differently. religionnews.com/2023/05/07/sco…

A couple I know got matching tattoos for their 20th. It's an image of two birds flying with the words, "with and for" between them. It's their vision. They want to be "with and for" one another. I want this vision for discipleship - to be "with and for" God and others.

In an age of accelerating technology and rapid polarization, maybe we need more friction in our lives, not less. Thank you Missio Alliance! missioalliance.org/the-eliminatio…

Learning to interpret interpersonal friction as good for us may help us become more human and more humane. Sometimes the static caused by friction makes things stick together. missioalliance.org/the-eliminatio… via Missio Alliance

Anger is a healthy and right response to injustice. When someone we love is demeaned, defaced, or desecrated, anger is right and good. Anger gives us the energy to stand up to bullies. (1/2) missioalliance.org/pray-your-rage/ via Missio Alliance

Anger enables us to demand accountability for actions that have hurt those we love. Anger helps us to enforce rules that keep our communities intact. It helps us to change rules that aren’t working. (2/2) missioalliance.org/pray-your-rage/ via Missio Alliance
