#OnThisDay in 1874, Arturo Alfonso Schomburg was born in Puerto Rico. Throughout the years, Schomburg amassed a personal collection of over 10,000 books, manuscripts, artifacts, and pamphlets, which went on to become the SchomburgCenter. #APeoplesJourney
