1/ First off, I have a lot of sympathy for everyone involved in the current situation with FTX - it's stressful any time there is potential for customer loss.

Not every protocol needs noise to move. In the background, the system does what it was designed to do automatically accumulating assets into the NestEgg. IRA. VDT.. No switches to flip. No one controlling it. Just an immutable contract executing daily buys. Simple mechanism.
