Nothing like being 1000 miles from home and having the Dexcom transmitter fail 3 weeks prematurely. Thank goodness I packed the backup. Traveling with diabetes sucks.

Great to have validation and proof of what we already intuitively knew. But this should help silence any remaining nay-sayers! So grateful for what open-source AID has done for our family. We are just a few days from our 6th-year anniversary of "closing the loop" with #OpenAPS

6 years ago today made this post on FB after the first 6 hours of #OpenAPS. Still remember the elation and amazement I felt as I watched the computer adjust my son's insulin and the amazing results. 6 years later, still using open-source AID. #WeAreNotWaiting

The chef at DeSano Pizzeria was kind enough to share some tips when we visited recently. Trying to put them into practice tonight. So far I’m pleased with results

Changed bolusPartialApplicationFactor from 0.4 to 0.5 in #Loop.Small increase in TIR and reduction in avg glucose w/o increase in hypoglycemia ( <3% ). May go to 0.6 soon. Individual customization that would never be possible w/ commercial device #wearenotwaiting

In this randomized trial, an open-source automated insulin delivery system controlled glucose time-in-range values significantly better than sensor-augmented insulin-pump therapy. nej.md/3RnFg3N

I love @nprscottsimon and NPR, but as someone working in person every Friday (and every other day) since the pandemic started I must confess I’m really tired of all the commotion about “back in the office” as well as all the noise about people who don’t want to come back

It's not everyday I get to share an announcement like this... Last night, Tidepool Loop was cleared by the FDA. This is the first iAGC clearance intended for interoperability across pump and CGM manufacturers. businesswire.com/news/home/2023… Tidepool #Loop #WeAreNotWaiting

Strange to look back on Twitter to figure out exactly how long we were w/ #Loop. Never got son to try #AndroidAPS (iPhone devotee). Finally time tonight to install #iAPS and after 4.5 years we are back to #OpenAPS algorithm. Had to resurrect an old #Edison rig to find settings

Took time to get the fine tuning done, but I think we are hitting our stride. Last full week w/ Loop before transition, and the last week on #iAPS w/ #OpenAPS algorithm. No dietary or activity changes otherwise. Better TIR, better avg glucose, less lows. Same daily insulin dose
