The controversial calculation makes burning methane appear to be the most climate-friendly fuel in our repertoire. It has also given the dairy industry license to tout it as “nearly ten times more effective at reducing carbon in the atmosphere than even electric vehicles.”

This is an alarming proposal. Several journalists have exposed how polluters hijacked the #LCFS. Virtually every EJ group and climate org in the state urged CARB to reform the program. And a majority of the Board echoed their concerns. Staff's latest proposal ignores it all.
