Our preclinical study on antiretroviral drug repositioning for GBM was published! Our main findings were that certain anti-retroviral drugs have preclinical efficacy and neuropenetrance in GBM. Were translating some of these findings to a clinical trial here UM SVI LAB

Thrilled that we are enrolling for STARLITE phase 1 trial for newly diag. unresectable GBM. We will combine FDA-approved antiretroviral drugs +Laser ablation+SOC. The trial leverages the anticancer effects of ART to target treatment resistant GBM stem cell niche. NCT06428045

A while coming, our NIH R25-funded work on GBM LMD was published exposing the TLR-4 pathway as relevant, and more importantly for me, lays foundations for active cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) exchange studies to make clinical change. Ashish H. Shah
