My pièce de résistance on Rogan. I've made sense of his senselessness. After 50+ hours of research and facepalms, I can finally explain the adolescent contradiction that is Roganism to anyone that wants to hear it. As always, video clips and transcript screenshots will follow.

The words of another amazing human that has moved past being "out of their mind" while "abusing drugs." This is recovery and it is necessary for human connection and it is beautiful. πŸ‘€ We need these words.

If the only β€œtreatment goal” that a service provider will accept is β€œabstinence” (esp abstinence from opioid agonists), in my experience, it’s basically guaranteed that the provider isn’t actually treating people with respect or decency.

Eirnin 100%. The zeitgeist of discourse makes it sound like Democracy = Voting. But voting is meant to be the ritual conclusion of Democracy = Negotiation, Compromise, Good Faith Representation, Compassion, Empathy.

Today I learned that twitter is full of angry people that are waiting for a reason to jump down a throat if they perceive something they disagree with.

It upsets me to hear a grieving mother say - β€œmy daughter was an addict who lost her battle with the disease of addiction.” I guess it’s better than not talking about it at all, but come on, we can’t only talk about drugs as if they were cancer. They aren’t.

John🩻 Nancy thinks a President shouldn't be a criminal On the topic of prohibition and it's affects on addiction and this opioid mess we've found ourselves in, I think it's important to remember that the reason that European nations don't have the addiction issues we have here while not having the prohibition we have here

Harm Reduction is great, but we need to use jails and detox centers to clean up the mess in places like SF and Philly. Outreach workers & police: start getting them inside.

Oopsies. The shooter wasn’t white. As a white guy, I’m getting a little bit sick of the left blaming me for all the worlds’ problems.

US Government: Do better. You've been working on it for 2 years? Hospitals are waiting for Xylazene to become a scheduled substance before they test for it... please get your act together and get the DEA out of healthcare. medpagetoday.com/special-report…

It wasn't just a spiritual malady that made me self-centered with all my addictions; it was also stigma, bad policies & laws, and other people's judgements. Society has to first care to understand the causes of addiction before we argue what "should" work to prevent and treat it.
