I am proud to announce that an essay of mine will be included in the coming volume of Moss later this summer. Moss is an awesome journal of writing from the Pacific Northwest that is published once a year. It's such an honor to have my piece in Volume Six!

Moss Volume Six has been out for a few weeks now. It's beautiful. I'm very thankful to Moss for publishing my essay, "$23 a Night" in this current volume. I'm proud of my work, and so thankful to @thatconnorguy and @Alaynaokayna for deciding to publish it.

Nice to get back to Powells on Burnside for the first time since 2019! Lots of folks there today, in spite of record breaking COVID cases in OR.

I've been reading and liking Martha Grover's essay collection The End of My Career, full of insightful, exploratory essays. I've wanted to read this for a long time. I've enjoyed her zines and other work over the years.

Not so long ago Americans had a sworn duty: to protect and look out for each other by masking up, washing hands, staying home and getting vaxed. With the pandemic fizzling out, what is our duty now? 1. complain about inflation 2. condemn Russia 3. Travel

I visited this full-scale replica of a Chinookan plankhouse over the weekend. It's at Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge (20 mi N of Portland) So cool. Only in person do you get a sense of how big and solidly built it is. I could smell the cedar, when I got close.

Gee, I feel bad for Mitch McConnell. He (probably) won't get the thing he treasures above all else: the ability to block a SCOTUS nomination from a Democratic president.
