Bumped into the legend peacemaker Rev Harold Good (who is 87 yrs old) I approached him & said hello… He said ‘I know who you are Karen, and your work with Irelands Future’.. 🥴 He gave me his card and said ‘Let’s chat!’ #Peacemaker 💚 Let’s together build a better future!

The Battle of #Aughrim was fought on this day in 1691. The battlefield is one of Ireland's most important military archaeological landscapes. For an idea of its potential you can read my "Fragments of Lives Past" chapter on artefacts recovered here: shielsheritagecom.files.wordpress.com/2020/07/witnes…

Delighted to have Attorney General of Ireland Rossa Fanning with us to celebrate the Irish Legal 100 and the incredible contributions of Irish Americans in law. Their achievements and dedication are a matter of great pride to all of us 🇮🇪🇺🇸

"Enlistment of Sickles' Brigade, N.Y." by pro-Confederate illustrator Adalbert Volck. This 1863 image seeks to portray Union rank and file from New York as the dregs of society, drawn from places like the Five Points. Many of Sickles' Excelsior Brigade were Irish. #IrishDiaspora

Plaque on Brooklyn Bridge has a list of project’s trustees. There are a number of Irish names - Murphy (President of the Board), but also Mooney, Carroll, Kinsella, Leahy & MacDonnall. The bridge was built between 1867 and 1883. Irish already prominent in NY public life by then.

A year since this fantastic event. The first American Civil War memorial in the United States that came about as a result of funding from the Irish Government and Northern Ireland Bureau, to remember the Irish men and families impacted by Andersonville Prison. #AndersonvilleIrish

OMG, look what arrived in Cooperstown! Representing the anthem that rallied the New York Mets all summer, this sign was used in pitcher celebrations and will be part of the Museum’s permanent collection.
