I got called out by Paul Graham for not explaining my comment. Fair point, though sometimes it's exhausting. Maybe that means one unwilling to explain their reasoning shouldn't comment at all. Topic for another day. Let me explain my response a bit here. »

Some very sensible advice from Tim Minchin… especially the tea part… but seriously, great thoughts on good ways to respond to things you might not necessarily agree with in a positive and productive manner.

I wrote a thing. It is about something that is near and dear to my heart. I am carrying this around for almost half year now, so here my first blog post ever: Yes, Type Safety is awesome, but have you tried #PsychologicalSafety? I hope you like it. dev.to/rommsen/yes-ty…

I'm going through something very similar and doing the same things to cope with it. This post is a huge confirmation that I'm on the right track. Thanks Troy, and well done!

So, I landed a couple-of-days freelance job, and now I'm doing Ruby and DynamoDB on AWS... 😅 Seems I'm really enjoying going way out of my comfort-zone !

There are many ways to become a better programmer, and many concepts that can help you, but if I have to pick one, start by mastering TDD and learn how to write tests at a single abstraction level. After that you can denounce TDD for all I care, but master it first.

As a maintainer of an event sourcing library and an event dispatcher page. Event dispatchers for frameworks should not be used for event dispatching where events are messages for a system. These things are VERY different and should not be mixed.
