I have complicated feelings about stories "inspired by" my trauma, but ire for reviews of #STILLWATER like this one that refer to me as a person convicted of murder, & conveniently fail to mention my acquittal by Italy's highest court. Deadline DO BETTER.

My exoneree sister deserves to be treated better than this. It is ugly how some people and tabloids treat her. She is a wonderful person, with a good heart. Wrongful convictions are real, and she suffered that Hell. Allow her to have some peace.

Reputational damage is not discussed enough when we talk about #reentry and #WrongfulConviction. Even after #exoneration, many people struggle to fully clear their name, to have the truth believed, to control narrative & public image. Journalists need to know and do better.
