My PhD thesis was made possible by NIH funding to a lab in Uganda. Now, ham-handed budget cuts from Donald J. Trump and Elon Musk will halt our ongoing clinical trials to prevent malaria in Africa. Children will lose access to care because helping others is now un-American.
