George Washington Julian (5/5/1817-7/7/1899) was a radical politician. His biographer Patrick Riddleberger says “his name has a way of cropping up on such diverse topics as land policy, woman’s rights, anti-slavery, Free Soil,Labor, the West, the Quakers, and the Unitarians.”
