📢We’re calling on Keir Starmer and the UK Government to take bold action to end homelessness. Rising living costs and a lack of affordable homes are pushing more people into homelessness than ever before. But we can change this. Sign our open letter: bit.ly/3FoTpfV

A new report from Crisis supported by Health Equals and including analysis with @zoopla shows: Just 2.7% of private rents are affordable for people in Britain needing housing benefits. This means for many people who are homeless, a more permanent home is out of reach.

Really pleased BBC Money Box chose to shine a light on social housing, expertly covered by the brilliant Felicity Hannah. Our lack of social homes is a big driver of homelessness. Have a listen below to hear me & Alastair Smyth National Housing Federation deep dive into this important topic!

We know we need more social housing. Around 10,000 social homes are built each year, far lower than the 90,000 a year we need. What’s stopping us? Jasmine Amber joined Andy Burnham @AnnaMinton Richard Hyde to discuss this question on Radio 4s Rethink👇 bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0…

The Chancellor can either: 👉Keep pushing people into homelessness and spending billions on temporary accommodation 👉Or invest in a future built on secure and genuinely affordable social homes. Rachel Reeves has an opportunity to build a lasting legacy. All eyes on 11 June.
