When anxious, uneasy and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea, and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleanses me with its noise, and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused.
— Rainer Maria Rilke

Storm Kathleen continues to pack a punch, pummelling us with brutal winds and sleet showers. This recent watercolour, completed recently during the calm between storms, seems (to me) to sum up the raw, elemental energy in the sky over the Minch.

One from the studio this week, “Minch Song - Spring Shower”.

Watercolour. A more abstract take on the daily dramas out there over the sea.

There seems to have been a fresh fall of snow on the higher levels of Skye overnight. Quite breathtaking to see from here!

There's heat in the colours of today's sunset but oh my goodness, the wind chill is vicious!

View across the croft and over the sea to Skye

Pale moon rising, above the old tin drill hall and the stream which runs through our crofts.
