Qualitative Research method should be required in all CJ and Criminology PhD programs to the same level quantitative research is required. To many people think they understand qualitative research but really have no clue. It’s painful to watch…

as a mixed method researcher…we don’t talk enough about how you need the kind of nuance provided via interviews, ethnography, focus groups etc…to be able to form and ask the right questions for your quantitative surveys.
