Congratulations to the ever busy Isle of Rum Community Trust Isle of Rùm as Rum becomes Scotland's first Dark Sky Sanctuary! It is one of just 20 places in the world to achieve this status, which will support nature and sustainable tourism bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

You have to dig deep into this report to realize it's actually #FlamingoLand they're talking about. This phoenix keeps rising from the ashes.

It started to rain so I brought the all-sky camera in. Looks like we caught a glimpse of Steve through the clouds at half past eight tonight. It's not #aurora but a related phenomenon. (Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement)

Come on Labour. Listen to the environmentalists, listen to your scientific advisers, fulfil that election promise. Ban bee-killing pesticides now. Not next year. Not the year after. NOW.

Just sublime to see this for real, I've never seen anything like it! So vivid to the eye. Only basic edits on this, I haven't touched the colour mixer! #Aurora #NorthernLights #PeakDistrict

Fireball this Sunday evening off the East Coast of Scotland. Just after quarter to ten it was caught by a few cameras of ukmeteornetwork. From #Lochearnhead it just dropped off the edge of this cropped fisheye shot. Mars top left, Procyon middle right. Popular Astronomy Bill Ward

And another #meteor in nearly the same part of sky an hour and 40 minutes later at 23h06m08s UT. Of meteor showers, the #Geminids are gone, #Ursids all but over, but the sporadics are still a-popping! The green banding is airglow, which we've had a lot of this year.
