We have a choice: act to ensure our universities remain amongst the best in the world, or let the system slowly run into the sand for the sake of political advantage. Government should be helping our universities, not making things harder for them.

“It is absolutely crucial that the government takes note of the MAC review, which the PM commissioned and set the terms of reference for, which recommended unequivocally that the government should not change the graduate route.”

As part of #ProtectStudentChoice we've written to Bridget Phillipson to reiterate the need for a two year pause in the defunding of applied general qualifications such as BTECs. Failing to do so risks a sharp increase in the number of young people disengaging from education.

We totally agree here UniofNorthampton - #BTEC and related quals are high quality and do the heavy lifting into essential courses like Nursing and other Uniformed services areas, as well as technical and creative sectors.
