Lovely to see the infrastructure behind archival + library collections. Most people don't realize the intense human labor, large funding, and continuous institutional commitment it takes to preserve and make them accessible.

I was again told by a ‘rationalist’ recently that in stating that the costs of permanently preserving information are not ‘tiny’, I was being subjective.

Still find it strange how muted the media interest in the British Library hack has been. The impacts have been huge and will be ongoing for a long time yet.

Twitter recently seems to have seen the return of ‘trolling’ in the early internet sense. i.e. posting deliberately inaccurate, provocative things, and insisting that the writer sincerely believes them. I wonder if this account is an example of that?
