The disproportionate focus on agriculture raises concerns. It is not just farmers who should be held accountable. We need a balanced approach that recognises all contributors to environmental challenges.

Just finished another episode of the @soccerazpod . It’s pure nostalgia and simply delightful. The memories come rushing back. Highly recommend!!! Brings a real proper belly laugh.

Major news tonight for rural families: 'The significant changes in the budget are likely to force many family farms out of business' newsletter.co.uk/lifestyle/mone…

Do the election results in the U.S. show that the media can’t accurately capture public sentiment, or are they choosing not to, especially since some outlets got it very wrong? This is the debate in my head right now.

A new word leapt into my head in the middle of the night - "metrosplaining". When apparent experts pass confident judgement on rural issues while displaying a very obvious lack of knowledge about the rural economy and rural way of life. Who knows why I suddenly thought of it

"I just don’t understand... if farming is such hard work with very little return, why farmers are so keen to continue farming?" My response... which is also why I believe this #FamilyFarmTax will have an impact on the whole country. New video Flank Farm

New data on farms and inheritance tax: a third of farm estates over Ā£1.5m aren’t farmers but wealthy people avoiding IHT by sinking money into farmland. The Budget hits farmers too hard and tax avoiders too lightly. It needs to change.

This is very interesting - and I commend Dan Neidle for not doubling down but going back to the data and speaking with agricultural experts to understand the IHT issue, as it relates to farming. I've yet to read the full report but will do so shortly....

The UFU says DAERA’s latest review of Northern Ireland’s approach to tackling bovine tuberculosis (bTB) is an insult to farmers who have suffered huge financial losses and are struggling with mental strain due to the disease. ufuni.org/daera-has-fail…

NFU president Tom Bradshaw has been on point and spoken quite beautifully at times during the Efra committee today on the family farm tax. As well as the human impact of the Budget, he said it feels like the relationship between Government and farmers has been 'broken'.

I'm sorry - the Chancellor just stated on BBC One Laura Kuenssberg that only farmers benefit from the 10 year window to pay Inheritance Tax bills without interest. This is incorrect.

It’s perhaps another illustration of how successful the agriculture sector are as lobbyists that even an official paper like this makes such a blithe assertion. matrixni.org/wp-content/upl…

Funny how the Lions were called poor & Farrell got hammered for his selections… yet after watching AUS vs SA yesterday, maybe the Wallabies aren’t such an easy side after all. šŸ¦šŸ‰

I have moved from being shocked and disappointed at the Treasury to being angry. I spent some time with an elderly client today who is confused and distressed over what to do, and a huge portion of responsibility for her upset rests with unprofessionalism from the Treasury.
