Thank you Lade Smith CBE. It is refreshing to see a change of tone from Royal College of Psychiatrists with a new President - unafraid, honest, compassionate, ambitious for patients. It goes to show how organisational culture is set at the top. Now all psychiatrists need to live up to this example.

Well I’m also spending money to end global warming so let’s tick that one off, shall we? 🤦🏼‍♂️

It blows my mind that it can be considered an adequate response to concerns about eating disorder treatment (or anything else, really) for the government and NHS to say, “WE ARE SPENDING SOME MONEY”

This means basically nothing, especially to people suffering unjustly now.

One way for patients to stop this merry-go round wheel of in an out is for them to have proper treatment in the first place!

Hilarious that this letter contains reference to the peanuts that are invested in eating disorders research.

This is absolutely unacceptable communication in its failure to acknowledge the reality of how many patients are treated.
