The Governor's budget shortchanges school districts by $26 million. Article 8 "...the increase in the core instruction amount shall not exceed the average five-year annual percentage change in the consumer price index." $12,335 for the core instruction amount compared to $12,617.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of my Senator Frank Lombardo. He was a true gentleman and a great person to share stories with. I will be praying for him and his family. May he rest in peace

The Rhode Island College Hope Scholarship is a smart investment in our students that will pay dividends for generations to come. Let's extend this pilot program to help more Rhode Islanders access affordable higher education.

RI Citizens for Responsible Government today launched our campaign urging RIers to oppose a Constitutional Convention & REJECT Question 1. We can't let big-monied special interests buy our Constitution and threaten our civil rights. We're voting to REJECT Question 1. Here's why:

On behalf of the RIFTHP our sympathy goes out to the Downey family and the members and staff of Council 94. Mike was a great leader and dear friend who will be missed by the R I labor movement.

What’s up with JDVance? We on #TeamKid are working to give our students a great start to the year. Not JD Vance. Derogatory attacks on teachers, putting Haitian students at risk, calling school shootings “a fact of life”? And it’s just mid Sept. Enough. We can do better.

The competency of the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) professional staff is indisputable. The same cannot be said about management of that department. The workers deserve a contract with raises like other state workers. They deserve respect & better leadership. Governor Dan McKee
