As I teach College & Career middle school students, the focus is shifting from degree / license (static) to depth of knowledge and ability to implement (process). I recently read that this is what Elon Musk looks for when hiring, . Readwise Elon Musk

Risk is something to be managed, but cannot be eliminated. In just the past few days, we have moved from flattening the curve (Good) to trying to eliminate all chance of exposure (Impossible). The cost of this approach will be far greater than the incremental benefit.

Here is where we are with online education. We are taking a new idea and trying to make it look like what we are used to. So our car looks like a horse carriage without the horse, instead of a Tesla or Ferrari. I'm going to give some thought to reimagining some possibilities.
