Gratabal, Nawa Kadal is a congested locality of Srinagar. Deep inside the aromatic labyrinth of alleys and in the midst of traditional Kashmiri homes stands a temple. Locals said they protected this Hindu place of worship like their own flesh and blood all those years of turmoil.
