In July, Gambian activists stopped a ban on FGM being overturned in parliament. FGM survivor and UN Women Ambassador Jaha Marie Dukureh says “we had to get survivors to… share their stories… I can’t believe I found myself in this fight nearly 12 years after I founded my organization.”
