A training session on SDG 5-Gender equality with 4️⃣0️⃣ #SoSHA Students University of The Gambia in collaboration with the Gender, Health and Environment Ministry. They explored new horizons and challenged norms for more inclusion.

Despite the challenges in enforcing the law against #FGM I believe that as a country we have come a long way & have registered many gains. The legal framework gave #CSOs a platform to amplify our advovacy

Responding to the invitation of President Biden at the U.S Africa Leadership Summit in DC, after my panel, I spoke with the U.S. Institute of Peace to emphasize the need for global peace and stability and strong democracies.

Women were disproportionately affected by #SGBV during the dictatorship as there already existed social norms that made women vulnerable to violence. As such our #TJ process must also address these existing norms & practices such as #FGM in order to achieve #NeverAgain
