This ā¬‡ļøā¬‡ļø There’s lots of research and data out there showing that if we talk frail elderly patients to hospital, inappropriately, the outcomes are generally poor for them. Paramedics are very good at managing risk and have been trained to do so.

So the advanced practice (other registered health professionals with more training, skills, and a clinical background) bashing begins as a follow on to the PA saga. Maybe we should just make everyone from the bottom to CEO a Doctor and then the NHS would run fantastically….

Paramedics, including me, often provide I.V. Paracetamol as an extra top-up of fluids when considering pain/pyrexia management in a hypotensive patient. It makes sense right? There's a wee 100ml of fluids to help out. No brainer right? Wrong. 🧵1/8

Headline News ā€˜Workers pay in to pension scheme and scheme has to pay out to them’ Who would have thought it hey?

With the expansion of #paramedics into many areas of healthcare, there is a lot of discourse over our professional identify. I thought this tweet summed things up nicely and is also a representation of how far our profession has come in the last few years

Big shout out to the pilots of the 18:15 Hovertravelltd out of Ryde, the smiling faces and waving have certainly put a grin on our little ones faces this evening!

I think all HCPs should spend time shadowing each other. Would reduce a lot of infighting and make everyone realise that we are all doing a difficult job in less than ideal circumstances.

On holiday here currently as it’s just a great place to be. Shame we can’t move here but might be a job for someone who can, fantastic island, by the sea, and from previous conversations a very progressive service!

In recent months Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, Paramedics and Nurses have had their roles critiqued and explained to them by doctors on here. There's never any data or evidence to support their criticisms. And each attack frightens patients who worry about who they can trust.
