Since it appears GOP leaders need a reminder: There is no “healing” from this without accountability. And there is no “unity” with white supremacists. You know the President’s state has devolved dangerously. If you’re too weak to do anything about it, you’re too weak to serve.

It’s not divisive to call out white supremacy. What’s divisive is to not work to eliminate it.

Still struck by this: Genevieve Hansen, the off-duty firefighter on the scene as George Floyd died, said she stayed on scene after Floyd was taken away bc she worried about the Black people and people of color --like Donald Williams -- possibly being hurt by remaining police.

This whole thread. The last two weeks I have been engaged with my Harvard University colleagues and cohort to be so much better than this. While still reeling in much disappointment.

God bless and comfort the young woman, Darnella Frazier--a child at the time--who had the presence of mind to document this vicious murder and the fortitude to testify so eloquently.

Repair begins with accountability. We still have so far to go. I am grateful for this verdict and devastated that George Floyd is not here today. We keep fighting. ❤️
