Weird that the color space of the Formula 2 videos are duller than the videos of the Formula 1 videos on Youtube. I'm guessing it's two separate video editing teams using different color profiles.

Holy cow. I really can't believe a Windows update, w/o my consent, pulled my Chrome tabs over into Internet Explorer and closed them from Chrome.

Curious which genius decided to read CSO as see-sow when we don't read CTO as see-tow. Something about these "kewl" trends always rub me the wrong ways. Maybe I'm getting just getting old.

Ever had a chat with AI, and for a split sec couldn't recall if it was w/ a human or AI? So far I have not, and not for lack of trying. I have had moments in VR, for a split sec felt like I had physically been there. Call it social brain & lizard brain litmus test if you will.

Seriously gpublisherstemp, how is it that you folks still allow scam ads like these preying on unassuming users on legit sites like CPUID? It's been literally decades since these simple exploits have been floating around. It should be the most trivial thing to eject them from the DB.

Attn YouTube eng: Looks like auto/dynamic resolution logic for videos w/ low view counts are broken. It starts at low res like 360p (guessing so to avoid waiting for caching of high res), but then never ups the res until user explicitly selects high res.

At Connect, we announced Hyperscape technology, bringing photorealistic spaces into the metaverse with your mobile phone (scanning not yet available). We’ve launched a demo app so you can experience these high-fidelity spaces yourself! bit.ly/47FhdX3 #MetaConnect

I remember playing the OG Assetto Corsa in our Oculus Irvine office. They gave us builds of it working on the Rift DK2 where I'd helped them improve it for our VR demos. Now a decade later... hopefully this will be just as good. <crosses fingers> youtube.com/watch?v=0uOkig…

It's sad how OpenAI sucked the proverbial life out of the advanced voice for ChatGPT, making it sound the same, if not worse, than the regular voice feature except the few gimmicks it can do like changing accents. Feels nothing like having a casual chat they demo'd 4 months ago.

These longer gaps between demoing & releasing newly announced AI/ML tech shows: A) How little they are aware of the full capabilities of their own creation; B) How much they were cherry picking the good results. Seems like these trends are just going to keep getting worse.

"Love" how Microsoft provides standardized Windows components, like a decent window and menu bar, a file browsing dialog box etc... then proceeds to skip them creating an abomination that is the modern Office suite GUI. But then again, Office always had weird GUI "inventions".

Latest Steam Hardware Survey for PC VR showing 70% of VR users are on Oculus/Meta Quest HMDs, but unfortunately the PC VR user market also shrank by about 2.5%. There's still 8.5% using Rift/S HMDs. That's dedication. I like it.

ChatGPT "advanced voice" promised natural voice conversations but never felt like they delivered on that promise maybe because they had to clamp it down too much for the edge cases. Sesame is doing what they didn't.

A bit surprised that all the "PC master race" triple-screen sim-racers aren't pushing for head-tracked stereo 3D cockpits on their triple-screen setups, but they'll obsess over the precise FOV settings. NVIDIA could throw together a rig + code to show gamers "how it's done".

Small thing, but still surprised Google Maps UX designers thought it was a good idea to preemptively pan and zoom out of the map when you try to pick way points. Literally never was useful and only leads to wasted time trying to go back to where I was.

When the terrain's ground-collision height map is accidentally offset higher than the terrain's render model's height...

Here we are. It's the year 2025, and web developers are still hardcoding a "highest probable resolution" on a web page... yes I'm talking to you youtube.com developers. <facepalm>
