The silence from Adele Ferguson and Chris Gillett today is deafening. The "rorts and waste costing taxpayers billions" has been exposed as baseless. In fact, GPs are routinely propping up the health system by under-billing $350m a year. How was this story allowed to happen?

Here are the facts. GPs are doing a tremendous job navigating a fiendishly complex Medicare Benefits Schedule, which includes around 6,000 items. As Dr Philip says, there is a lot of fear of the compliance regime, which is leading to GPs under-billing Medicare. #GiveUsABreak

Curious what a health insurer has to gain by funding asynchronic teleconsults ? We know it has nothing to do with good medicine nor good healthcare so I guess all that remains is good profits midnight.health/uncategorized/…

“We’re supposed to have free healthcare” Surely ⁦ABC News⁩ should be aware that this is NOT the case? Mandatory bulkbilling for all GP services has never been part of Medicare. Yet another salvo fired by the anti-GP brigade abc.net.au/news/2023-04-1…

And if they can’t afford a private script of Fluticasone-they most certainly can’t afford to see a private paediatrician. Therefore public outpatient waiting list of years? This is unworkable policy again for the most vulnerable.

taipan168 lost in all this is the fact that the stage 3 tax cut recipients pay the vast lions share of the taxes which make up government revenue. Also lost is that the ave person on $92k, is also a beneficiary of these tax cuts, but a lesser amount (of course, tax is a %). ABC and math🤦‍♂️

So to paraphrase - the majority who voted no are dumb, old, poor and rural. At least they were jn the majority which is what really count in a democratic process abc.net.au/news/2023-10-1…

‘Butler went on to say the government would be keeping a “close eye on gap fees” and other charges. “We want to see a response from general practice to the very significant investment on behalf of taxpayers,” he said.’ Gap fees = failure of the public insurance Mark Butler MP

This the waiting time for the “cheap” ($5K) aged dependant visa. The more expensive one ($50K) now has a waiting time of 12y. You can wait in Aus on a bridging visa but need to fund everything privately. Health insurance going up to $600 per month in July

The experts are “perplexed”. How cute. It was obvious this was going to be the outcome when an addictive substance was being pushed as legit medicine with piss poor evidence to back the claims up abc.net.au/news/2025-05-1…
