this book said “most of us carry into our adult relationships a reluctance to telling the whole truth” bc we learned to lie in our relationships with our parents. you learned that if u tell the whole truth about ur feelings, what u do, etc, you’ll be harmed, belittled or censored

Being disabled can mean higher costs. One example is food. People may not be able to choose a cheaper alternative. They may have to buy pre-prepared. They may rely on deliveries so can’t get to the budget stores. They may have to get takeaway when they’ve no energy left to cook.

“Don’t have children if you can’t afford them” is such a ridiculous statement to make. Literally impossible to know exactly what financial position you’re going to be in for the next 18+ years… One moment, one job loss, one accident or illness could change everything.
