On Sunday, Simon Jupp, the MP for East Devon went on BBC Politics South West to talk about the Attack on Nature, and also gave us a friendly shout out... The only thing that’s *quite frankly outrageous* is the government’s repeated disregard for the environment. ✊🚨

There are so many green spaces in our towns and villages that are over-mown or sprayed, but which could instead be boosting biodiversity and bringing nature back into our lives like this corner of Cambridge. RT if you agree 🐝

"Warning to ministers over privatised water kept secret since 2002". "Large external private equity shareholders would load the [water] company with debt and Ofwat inevitably would lose any regulatory control." Brilliant bit of work by Sandra Laville. theguardian.com/environment/20…

Good old Southern Water always to be relied upon to screw up someone's weekend. Last week it was no drinking water for 10,000s, this week because of sewage dumping beaches are "Closed to swimmers, bathers and paddlers, including, Bognor Regis, Felpham, Clymping and Elmer".

We, the customers, have for 30 years provided all of the funding necessary for WCs to comply with the law something WCs confirm to Ofwat each and every year. Where's our money gone? What has happened to it? When can we the customers get a refund? (2/2)

The message we sent profiteering polluters and politicians today is loud and clear: WE'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR SH*T! 🤬💩❌ #SASpaddleout #endsewagepollution #sickofsewage #OceanActivists

I have to say this has to be one of if not the biggest PR blunder I've ever seen any industry make. What in God' name were they thinking about. "I know, our customers hate us so let's tell them we want to charge them an extra £10bn." WHAT?! telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/05/1…

All we want is to be able to enjoy our blue spaces without getting sick, is that asking too much? 🌊 Thank you to everyone who came and stood up for our ocean, rivers and lakes yesterday, we have been heard, and we will not stop until sewage is a thing of the past ✊

Every day, raw sewage is being dumped into our rivers and seas, turning British waterways into an open sewer. And what does the Tory Environment Secretary think about that?

Jim McMahon MP (@jimfromoldham) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It was only a few weeks ago that The Labour Party presented a Bill to Parliament that would have cleaned up the water industry and forced polluters to pay. But Tory MPs including Coffey voted it down and blocked its progress. It’s a Tory #SewageScandal. 💩🤮

Why should you try no-mow May? Because flipping miracles can happen! Adder's-tongue fern on our shared front lawn. One of 10 that have appeared for the first time. Incredible this ancient meadow plant has survived all this time in the seedbed 😍 #wildflowerhour

English water companies to pay £14.7bn in dividends,. They will hike bills by £100 a year to reduce sewage pollution - we have been paying since 1989. Companies pocketed the money. OFWAT/GOVT presiding over abuses. Privatisation is a scam. theguardian.com/money/2023/may…

And just to add to South West Water's headaches they also had to introduced a hosepipe ban just 4 weeks ago. You read that right. Two formal investigations underway by the regulator and a hosepipe ban, now what does that tell you about how SWW is run? plymouthherald.co.uk/news/plymouth-…

Feargal Sharkey (@feargal_sharkey) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The hosepipe ban referred to, the one in the newspaper article, applies to Plymouth and was introduced a month ago. You are correct to say that Cornwall has been under a hosepipe ban since last August.

Would that be because you get rid of any sites that are failing thereby keeping a so called perfect record? Inquiring minds need to know.
