Computers are weird... apparently the original Windows install with all my shit was still in there somewhere. Managed to get it out and remove the fresh install.... Back to where I was several hours ago as if nothing happened except now I my blood pressure is sky high!

46 years of no northern lights then twice in the same year. Whatever the government are putting in to the atmosphere to control the weather must be causing this.... On the plus side, it's saved me a trip to the Arctic circle to see them!
