Short thread: The 2021 Census data on car/van availability by household in England & Wales is finally out. Good news: Lambeth (my area) and London continue significantly to buck a national trend of falls in no-car households. ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulati…)

Nationally, car ownership in England & Wales continues to rise - and no-car households to fall in number. But while only 23% of households are no-car nationally, that jumps to 42% in London (with Lambeth at 58% and Islington a whopping 67%.

For my own area of Lambeth, a massive 58% of households have no cars or vans. Since 2001, the number of such households has increased by half. When petrolheads attack LTNs and clean air zones, remember: they are a declining minority. That's why anti-LTN campaigners do so badly.
