This is all part of the parliamentary ‘wash up’ ahead of the election. Committee had to rush out its conclusions in a letter to Home Secretary rather than a full report, but wants to return to the issue of fire culture after the election (depending on which MPs return!)

In total, there have now been two independent reviews, a report by inspectorate, parliamentary inquiry and Welsh Govt took one service into special measures. Yet we still hear from some fire services and authorities that there is no problem. They are the only ones who think so.

Once again, this is a huge tribute to Shirley, our whistleblower who began the whole chain of events. Amazing to think that “just the cleaner” (as she calls herself) has affected huge change. Thank you to all the other women and men who’ve trusted us along the way.
