Really good speech by Kemi Badenoch. Loved her identifying as an engineer- who doesn’t know all the answers but determined to find them. Great to hear a Conservative say the family rather than the individual is the foundation of her beliefs. Bullseye. And she has a lovely laugh.

For the first time, I heard a Conservatives leadership hopeful make the case for the family, not individuals or the state, as the bedrock of society. Very inspiring speech today by Kemi Badenoch covering both global and local issues with clarity, confidence and some humour too.

There’s two people in this world who I want to be blunt with me. My doctor and my party leader. Honesty renews faith in politics, and today, Kemi has reminded me why I joined the Conservative Party in 2017, and why I’m proud to be a Conservative. This is renewal. #renewal2030
