Visited the Science Museum London today and all I can say is shame on you. The government has been clear that you must not tell kids that they can be born in the wrong body. And displaying packets and binders and describing transition as a ‘hero’s journey’ is plain wrong . Vile!

There are now hundreds and hundreds of gay men in my mentions saying transwomen are not women and transmen are not men. This was not the case only a few years ago. Stonewall has lost its base as well as its government funding. This is the problem with unaccountable orgs.

Its also happening socially. I had a drink with a 30yo photographer last week, for a job. No interest in politics. 'Why won't they all get off my Grindr?', he moaned. 'I'm gay'. Sex matters, on so many levels.

On biggest issue of day, existential climate emergency, we must learn to settle our differences else we fail future generations. No debate on sex/gender has got us here. We write off vast swathes of electorate at our peril, just as we write off one another for legitimate views.

Politicians must learn to engage with & listen to those they don't necessarily agree with. We might be wrong & they might teach us something. My approach to politics basically that of an optimist. I don't assume vast swathes of electorate bigoted, hateful or beyond moral reach.

My door always open to Sian & others in party for good faith discussion. But let me be clear. I am not going to write of vast swathes of electorate or their concerns as transphobic.
