Not a super exciting topic, but you’ll have to know this stuff - eventually. “Longer life expectancy projections could mean that individuals may be able to keep more of their retirement savings in their tax-advantaged accounts over a longer time period.” lordabbett.com/en/perspective…

The Nudge Theory: “Plan sponsors can “nudge” participants to improve their financial wellness by consolidating their prior-employer 401(k) accounts into their active accounts, and not cashing out.” benefitnews.com/opinion/nudge-…

wsj.com/articles/new-r… “This is a signal from the Labor Department that they are going to continue to beef up consumer protections to ensure rollover recommendations are really in consumers’ best interests,”

This is aptly out and a great way of looking at it. “While it is objectively and demonstrably in investors’ best interest to play the long game, when faced with the psychological pain of a loss, most opt to protect their downside.” fat-pitch.blogspot.com/2018/06/the-mo…

While people are seemingly getting rich off of digital NBA cards and whatever else, this is so well put by Blair H duQuesnay: “Slow and steady, asset allocation with rebalancing, is the only way I know to grow and preserve wealth with any consistency.” blairbellecurve.com/macro-thinking/

Just to put things into perspective: The S&P 500 may have hit a new ATH today, but if you put the index in relation to the Fed's balance sheet, it is trading at the same level as in 2008, so equities have traded sideways since 2008, basically counteracting balance sheet expansion
