.Liberal Democrats MP Caroline Voaden MP is right. The rise in #NationalInsurance for GP surgeries means that the uplift in the 2025/26 contract is far smaller than it appears. #GeneralPractice must be properly funded to ensure patient safety and that GPs' doors can stay open. #RebuildGP

Since 2015, the number of patients has grown while the number of GPs has fallen. This means that, on average, one GP is now responsible for 300 more patients. With no sign of these trends reversing, this is unsustainable. We need to work with Government to #RebuildGP.

Compared to other OECD nations, the UK has fallen behind on ensuring that we have enough GPs to care for every patient. We urgently need a plan from Government to retain the #GeneralPractice workforce. #RebuildGP #TeamGP

Patients deserve access to local GPs. But with 2,282 patients per GP on average (and growing), the system is overwhelmed. Without investment, patients will lose access to vital care. 💔 #RebuildGP

In just ten years, 1 in 20 FTE NHS GPs in England has left the workforce. The profession cannot afford to lose talent at this rate. This is why we must continue working with Government to ensure that GPs are at the heart of the #10YearHealthPlan 💙 #RebuildGP #TeamGP
