So excited 🎉 to share my first paper with Michael Chadwick and Rob Francis looking at how low cost sensors like #Arduino can be used to teach Physical #Geography skills in higher education by using #activelearning approaches tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…
Delighted to have shared my research LndnFreshwaterGroup this morning! 🐟
Very much enjoyed installing some Solinst Canada Ltd. loggers and an Arduino based logger, courtesy of Reagan Pearce, on some streams @KneppWilding last week with Dr Tom Kelly! Looking forward to seeing what data we collect! #rewilding #phdchat #Arduino #Flood #drought #sensors
What a moment! A #WhiteTailedEagle is born in England – the 1st for over 240 years! It hatched earlier this summer & has now fledged. It's the first breeding success of the birds released by Forestry England & Roy Dennis Foundation in a landmark project to return this iconic species.
A brill day on Loch Insh Loch Insh Outdoor Centre taking cores & doing limnology on our UCL Geography MSc Scotland fieldcourse. What a team working mega hard today doing all sorts of sampling @eshilland Reagan Pearce @Jorge_SalgadoB James Shilland Super Sam Fah (far away)
A tour from the brill Thijs Claes (thankyou!) at the astonishing RSPB Cairngorms Connect Insh Marshes today where we surveyed the River Tromie. Truly brilliant river-floodplain restoration in action with much good work done by the recent floods UCL Geography
An astonishing day habitat & fish surveying on the Allt Lorgy with Atticus from Spey Fishery Board (THANKYOU!!!). Salmon & Trout galore on a river which is restoring itself into a complex, multi-channel system with the help of recent floods. Inspirational stuff!!! UCL Geography
This week we are launching our "Guide to the Restoration, Creation & Management of Ponds" with Freshwater Habitats Trust & demonstrating it practically too with funding from the @East_England_NT Riverlands project. Watch out for top tips on farm ponds all of this week via NorfolkPondsProject
